My brother and I met Josh Griggs 1 year ago when we heard about a possible new promotion coming to California from Indiana where Josh Griggs held his first event back in 2011.
Josh Griggs has done things that might have been called unconventional in the mma world because in 27 events, 14 of them have been in new venues. In this industry it isn’t always the best idea to bounce around to different cities, states and venues with a young promotion but that hasn’t stopped Josh Griggs. Josh has a vision for his companies or projects that he works for like Tru Form Entertainment or his reality tv project “Gym Wars” that is about mma gyms fighting to win new gym equipment. When you look at Josh Griggs you see a family man, a determined, strong willed man. He was introduced to the Hillenbrandt family by Adam Rendon since they wanted josh to lead the promotion to build, to guide them into the future because when an idea, a vision is instilled into Josh Griggs he doesn’t think short term it’s about longevity.
In 1 year, he has put on 7 shows. Now he’s looking to bring in sponsors and land a network deal. Here is a little bit of why everyone should get involved with Josh Griggs/Tru Form Entertainment. On August 26, 2016 Tru Form Entertainment debut in another new venue which was the business expo center in Anaheim California, the exact same day Bellator MMA was in town at the Honda Center headlined by Former UFC Champion Benson Henderson and the Anaheim Angels a major league baseball team were all going on in the same city just minutes away from each other. Tru Form Entertainment packed in 900 people in the venue (Consider that a WIN). Weeks leading up to this event Tru Form lost 2 title fights, a main event that had a fighter get pulled to join Bellator MMA card leaving Josh Griggs to find a last minute replacement.
The show still went on with 5 professional fights, 1 amateur. Josh Griggs and Co was able to still bring in a solid crowd, even on the day of the weigh ins Josh received a phone call that his step mom passed away. He was still there for the show, still the man behind the curtain making sure everything was going according to plan. 2017, It is believe to be the continued growth of TFE (Tru Form Entertainment) which is expected to sign a tv deal probably the best team around following the same common goal. The Sports Warriors have been in this business now for over 8 years, covering several mma events this is by far the most “family oriented team” we’ve been around, the work ethic from the back to the play by play guys; Carlos Kremer and Jonathan King . Those two are some of the most well-known, well respected guys in the business. Josh Griggs also chose the official cutman to be Ed Buckley, Jason Lambert to run the locker room, Chantilly Rivera as the official ring girl, Dave Davis as the voice of Tru Form Entertainment and the photographer’s that bring you the images, graphics and video production Joe Novelozo, Lui Castandenda, Bob Barton and Lance Emery.
