KSW 49 Fight Card Complete

The final two bouts for KSW 49 on May 18 have been finalized this week. Heavyweight destroyer Michal Andryszak (20-7) returns to face UFC veteran Luis ‘KLB’ Henrique (11-5) and Poland’s Leszek Krakowski (13-1) welcomes the explosive Michael Dubois (10-6) to the promotion.
Former title challenger Michal Andryszak was last in action a little over a year ago when he came up short against Phil De Fries at KSW 43. Prior to that the 27-year-old was on a six-fight-win-streak of first round knockouts. In total Andryszak possesses an incredible nineteen first round stoppage wins and has never been to a decision. He owns career victories over former KSW heavyweight champ Fernando Rodrigues Jr., Tim Hague, Michal Kita, and Denis Smoldarev.
No doubt Andryszak will be vying to get back towards title contention but first he must get past the debuting Luis Henrique. The 25-year-old went 7-1 on the Brazilian scene before getting signed by the UFC in 2015. He fought six times for the promotion submitting both Dimitrii Smolyakov at UFC on FOX 20 and Christian Columbo at UFC Fight Night 100 and was also in the cage with Francis N’Gannou. After leaving the UFC last September he scored another submission victory locally in Brazil and now will make his KSW debut on May 18.
Kicking off the card, we will see the return of smothering grappler Leszek Krakowski as he faces another debutant in Michael Dubois. Krakowski was last in action at KSW 45 in London where he defeated top UK prospect Alfie Davis and is 2-1 overall in KSW. The English-based Polish fighter will now be aiming to get his very first victory on Polish soil after fighting most of his career in the UK.
However, Michael Dubois will be looking to spoil this and continue his good run. Born in France, Dubois now represents Switzerland and spends a lot of time fighting out of Tiger Muay Thai in Phuket, Thailand. The 26-year-old has never went to a decision in his career is well-travelled having fought in France, Brazil, Abu Dhabi, Russia, and Thailand. and is coming off the biggest and most impressive win of his career – a first round KO win over the previously undefeated & highly touted Mert Ozyildirim in Germany last month.
KSW 49 will be headlined by Michal Materla (27-6) vs. Scott Askham (17-4) in a much anticipated rematch for the vacant middleweight title and Roberto Soldic (15-3) will defend his welterweight title in the co-main event against the undefeated Krystian Kaszubowski (7-0). Also Damian Grabowski (21-5) will finally make his KSW debut and he will face former heavyweight champ Karol Bedorf (15-4) and social media stars Erko Jun (2-0) & Akop Szostak (3-2) will collide.
