KHK Boxing announces main event for debut card in Cape Verde
KHK Sports announced in November the launch of KHK Boxing, after a year of operation by Brave Combat Federation. Now, the recently founded promotion confirmed its inaugural event to be held on 9 December, 2017at Gimno Desportivo arena in Praia, in Cape Verde. The main event will feature the championship fight for the African Heavyweight title, with KHK Boxing’s Faisal Arrami facing Tshibuabua “Junior Maximus” Kalonga.
Tshibuabua Kalonga has an unbeaten record of 7 victories, with four of them coming by the way of knockout. Meanwhile, Faisal Arrami was the French Lightw-heavyweight champion in 2011 and the African Champion Light heavyweight in 2009, under ABU. Arrami has 18 victories in 24 professional bouts, out of which 10 came by way of knockout. The initiative marks the second major investment in combat sports launched by the Bahrain.
KHK Boxing is the new endeavor of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport and President of Bahrain Athletics Association, after the successful implementation of a national MMA project in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the creation of the international Mixed Martial Arts promotion Brave Combat Federation.
