Katharina Lehner vs. Lucie Pudilova official for EuroFC 02
A contest between two of Europe’s top women bantamweights will go down at EuroFC 02 in Prague on February 11th as the Czech Republic’s own Lucie Pudilova (6-1) faces Germany’s undefeated star Katharina Lehner (5-0).
It was announced last week that Pudilova was to compete at EuroFC 02 and join the ever growing list of Czech fighters set to compete in their nation’s capital of Prague. The bantamweight, who is ranked the P4P female fighter in the Czech Republic, has impressed since turning pro in 2014. She went on a three fight win streak before dropping a decision to Lina Lansberg, who recently headlined UFC Fight Night 95 opposite Cyborg. Following this loss Pudilova regained form and is currently on another three fight win streak. She has proven herself to be one of the most well-rounded female fighters around with two wins by each TKO, submission and decision.
Now she will face Katharina Lehner, the top P4P ranked female fighter from Germany according to Tapology. Lehner also turned pro in 2014 and has yet to taste defeat winning each of her fights to date. The 26-year-old spoke of her excitement in getting the call to compete at EuroFC 02.
“The minute I got the call and was offered a fight at EuroFC 02 I got totally excited,” smiled Lehner. “It is a great chance for me to take my next step in such an professional and equally successful environment. I’m ready to take on EuroFC’s international challenges.”
Speaking about her opponent Lehner had nothing but respect for her and is expecting a good contest in the cage.
“Lucie is a complete MMA athlete and proved her well-rounded skill set several times inside the cage. We’re both on the rise, reaching higher levels of competition every time we fight so it is just a matter of time when our paths will cross. The number one of the Czech Republic against the number one of Germany. Since I’ve got roots in Czechia and my undefeated record is on the line you can bet it’s going to be an exciting one.”
