On October 6 at KSW 45 in The SSE Arena, Wembley world’s collide in this mega crossover fight as rapper Popek Monster (3-3) returns to the cage to face bodybuilder & fitness model turned MMA fighter Erko Jun (1-0).
Popek, who has collaborated alongside the likes of The Game, Professor Green, and Big Narstie, made his MMA debut in 2008 in the old Cage Rage promotion while living in London. Through his rapping, eyeball tattoos, facial scars, and knockout power Popek has garnered an infamous reputation. He stepped away from competing in MMA for eight years but then returned at KSW 37 to face Mariusz Pudzianowski.
Since then Popek has been involved in a number of high profile fights, as well as having a successful stint on Poland’s ‘Come Dance With Me’ TV show, and helped make MMA history at KSW 39 when almost 58,000 people attended and watched him KO bodybuilder Robert Burneika.
With over one million Instagram followers, Erko Jun came into MMA after a chance meeting with fellow KSW star Roberto Soldic. He is self-made and rose to fame through bodybuilding and fitness modelling, a work ethic he has applied to his MMA training. Since meeting Soldic he began training out of the renowned UFD Gym in Germany, homes to a host of Europe’s top fighters.
Taking his transition very serious, Jun would sleep at the gym Monday to Friday and drive home to Belgium at the weekend. This work paid off in his MMA debut at KSW 44 when he knocked out Polish action star Tomasz Osweicinski and set the internet alight.
Now he has his sights set on finishing another Polish star in Popek Monster at KSW 45.
