On Sunday it was announced that Henry Cejudo was being removed from the championship area on the official UFC Rankings by Dana White. This effectively taking the Bantamweight and Featherweight titles from Henry Cejudo making them now vacant.

One day later Monday May 25th, 2020 the former UFC double champ “Triple C” Henry Cejudo went on IG/Twitter to issue his first statement from the night that he announced that he was retiring after beating Dominick Cruz in the 2nd round at UFC 249.

You can see his statement in the below picture but, this is what he said

“Thank you for the awesome experiences uncle @DanaWhite. I will forever be grateful. Thank you for taking a chance on the sport that people thought would never make it. To all my coaches and fans it been a wonderful ride. Triple C is out.”

This might come to a shock for some people as many thought at UFC 249 that the retirement speech seemed off, seemed like it wasn’t geniune. Even Cejudo’s manager Ali Abdelaziz contradicted his client’s claims. Abelaziz said he expects Cejudo to fight again by saying

“Henry’s got everybody on their knees right now,” Abdelaziz said. “I don’t think he’s gonna retire. You’re gonna see him fight by this summer. This is what I think.”

So, now we wait to see which side is the correct side. Is this a ploy, another tatic in Triple C master game plan?
