Dan Henderson’s Fight Night

Sanctioned by: CamoMMA Amateur

Temecula, CA – Dan Henderson’s Gym (Team Quest) hosted for the second time an MMA fight inside their gym. This was the first under Dan Henderson’s name put on by Ryan McCallister. Ryan dipping his toes into the amateur mma scene for the first time did an admiral job. The house was packed from the floor to the second level of the gym, with electricity in the building everyone was into each fight. The night started off with two heavyweights Jacob Valdvia vs Jose Acosta, these two kids started off the night with a bang as they set the tone for the rest of the evening. As these two combatants threw down and blood was pouring from Acosta.

First fight night had 5 youth pankration fights plus 10 amateur fights that was headlined by Mychaquell Shields vs Carlos Morales, the co-main event Matt Padilla vs Sukshith Gowda. Where to begin on the co-main event? Well for starters if you blinked you missed the finish that is how quick this one ended with a knee to the body that dropped Gowda. Matt Padilla continues to show improvement in every fight he’s taken from Las Vegas to Local MMA shows. With more cage time and preparation, he shows improvement as a fighter. Team Quest had a strong finish to the evening as they finished 4-1 with all 4 wins coming via stoppages.

Other standout fights from the evening were Jeungjoo Choi vs Devin Ochoa, in the fight Choi showed a very strong stand up game and good take down defense as Ochoa was relentless when it came to him shooting for the take downs. Carl Presscott from Team Quest had one of the finishes of the night with a standing guillotine on the near side of the cage as he improved to 2-1. We can’t forget to mention a young amateur fighter Chris Fluke, finally he is able to pick up his first win of his young amateur career last night with a great finish as he went back to what he’s comfortable in doing, which is his wrestling as he was able to score the takedown and finished the fight with ground n pound. As he picked up his first W. The Sports Warriors were able to get a quick word in with Coach/UFC Fighter Sam Alvey right after the fight about Fluke’s win. Sam Alvey with a big smile like only Sam can said “Fuck YEAH!
