Two of Poland’s most popular martial arts darlings will meet on March 3 as Paulina Raszewska faces Karolina Owczraz at KSW 42 in the Altas Arena in Lodz, Poland.
Raszewska is a former Polish champion in Sanda and Muay Thai, has won numerous of national and international in K1 and has competed professionally in boxing too. Currently a coach in the KSW Cross Fight gym in Warsaw, Raszewska was originally slated to make her pro MMA debut in KSW back in 2012. She would also be recognizable to Polish MMA fans as a journalist for myMMA.pl.
Owczarz is also a decorated striker, she was a national junior boxing champion and then went on to be an undefeated pro boxer with a record of 4-0. Before her pro boxing debut she appeared on the Mexican TV reality show ‘Reto de Campeonas’, which highlighted young boxing prospects. After retiring from boxing Owczarz became a journalist for national TV channel Polsat Sport but stepped away from this role last year to focus on MMA training. Now she will make her debut in front of her hometown crowd in Lodz.
KSW 42 will be headlined by a Champ vs. Champ superfight between Mamed Khalidov (34-4-2) and Tomasz Narkun (14-2), the card will also feature a match-up between fan favourite Michal Materla (25-5) and UFC veteran Scott Askham (15-4) while lightweight champ Mateusz Gamrot (13-0, 1 NC), flyweight champ ‘The Violence Queen’ Ariane Lipski (10-3), KSW legend Lukasz Jurkowski (16-10), and SBG’s Chris Fields (12-7-1) will also appear on the card.
