Brave 18 press conference heats up with staredowns for title fights
Brave Combat Federation held its pre-fight press conference for Brave 18, this wednesday, in Manama, Bahrain. The six fighters involved in the three title bouts that headline this friday’s groundbreaking event were on site to answer press and fan questions and to meet their opponents face to face for the first time.
And the staredowns didn’t disappoint as all athletes took it as an opportunity to read their opponent’s state of mind and there were no laughs or pleasantries exchanged. In the main event, lightweight interim champion Lucas “Mineiro” looks to unify his belt against top contender Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady. They had an intense staredown and were only separated by Brave president Mohammed Shahid.
Meanwhile, bantamweight title challenger Felipe Efrain tried to get into the champion Stephen Loman’s head with a heated staredown, including putting his fists near The Sniper’s chin. Loman, however, seemed unfazed by his opponent’s antics. Finally, Marcel Adur and Velimurad Alkhasov, who face each other for the inaugural Brave flyweight title, also had a heated exchange in the staredown.
Brave 18 is set for November 16th at the Khalifa Sports City Arena, in Isa Town, Bahrain. Apart from the three title fights set for the groundbreaking fight card, Brave 18 will mark the returns of Luan “Miau” Santiago and Cian Cowley. They face Djamil Chan and Hardeep Rai, respectively. The show will be a part of the International Combat Week, the biggest combat sports festival in Asia’s history.
